Where Your Information Goes

LoansForChristmas is a lender-matching service, not a lender. When you send a request, we forward the details you entered to lenders and partners in our network so they can decide whether to make you an offer.

LoansForChristmas may receive compensation from lenders or lending partners when a request is matched or funded. This compensation may affect which lenders appear in our network and how requests are routed. It does not change what you pay a lender.

Some state privacy laws may treat that exchange as a "sale" of personal information, which those laws define broadly as giving it to another business for money or something else of value. They also cover "sharing": passing personal information on for cross-context behavioral advertising, meaning ads based on what you do across different sites and apps. You have the right to tell us to stop both.

Your Rights Under State Privacy Laws

If you live in California, the California Consumer Privacy Act, as amended by the California Privacy Rights Act (CCPA/CPRA), gives you the right to:

  • Opt out of the sale or sharing of your personal information.
  • Know what personal information we've collected about you, where it came from, why we collected it and what kinds of businesses we've disclosed it to, and get a copy of it.
  • Ask us to delete personal information we collected from you. The law lets us keep some records, such as those we need to prevent fraud or meet a legal obligation.
  • Ask us to correct personal information that's inaccurate.
  • Not be penalized for using any of these rights.

Several other states have passed consumer privacy laws that give their residents similar rights, though the details differ from state to state. You can use the form wherever you live, and telling us your state helps us apply the right rules.

What an Opt-Out Covers

An opt-out applies to the personal information we hold under your email address. Once we've processed it, we stop selling or sharing that information. Matching works by passing a request to lenders, so if you decide to send a new request later, you'd be asking us to forward that one.

Global Privacy Control

Global Privacy Control (GPC) is a setting in some browsers and browser extensions. When it's switched on, your browser tells each site you visit that you don't want your personal information sold or shared. California law treats a GPC signal as a valid request to opt out, and several other states have similar rules for signals like it.

Where the law treats a GPC signal as an opt-out, we treat it as one for that browser. The signal doesn't tell us who you are, so it can't reach a request you sent before. To cover a past request, send the form on this page as well.

How We Confirm a Request Is Yours

We match the email address on the form against the one on your request. That's how we find your records and check that the request comes from you, so please use the address you entered when you applied. If we can't find a request under that address, we'll let you know.

An authorized agent can make a request for you. We may ask the agent for proof that you gave permission, and we may check with you directly by email.

Send a Privacy Request

Fields marked * are required.

We use it to find your request and confirm it's yours.

This tells us which state's privacy law applies.

What would you like us to do?

For a correction, tell us what's wrong and what it should say.

Please don't include your Social Security number or bank details. We'll never ask for them by email.

We check that the request is yours, then reply to the email address you entered within the time the law requires. Our Privacy Policy explains how we use what you send.

Lenders That Already Have Your Request

If we've already forwarded your request, each lender or partner that received it keeps its own copy and handles it under its own privacy policy. A request to us covers the information we hold, and we can't delete or correct records another company keeps. For those, contact the lender directly. Its name is usually in the emails or texts it sent you, and its privacy policy explains how to make a request there.

When You'll Hear Back

We reply to the email address on the form. We act on opt-outs, and answer requests to know, delete or correct, within the time the law requires. If a request needs longer and the law allows an extension, we'll tell you before the original deadline and explain why. When you ask for a copy of your information, we send it in a format you can open and save.
