Our Disclosures
LoansForChristmas is not a lender. We send your request to lenders in our network, and they decide on approval, rates, fees and terms. This page is the full version of the notices at the bottom of every page: how we're paid, the APR range and repayment terms, the tribal lender notice and your consent to be contacted. Please read it before you send a request.
We Are Not a Lender
LoansForChristmas (the "Website") is not an offer or solicitation to lend. The Website is not a lender, a broker, or an agent or representative of any lender, and it does not make loans or credit decisions. The Website collects the information you provide and forwards it to lenders and partners in our network. We don't charge you for using this service, and you're under no obligation to use it or to accept any offer. Loan amounts range from $500 to $35,000, and not all lenders offer the maximum. Submitting a request is not a promise of approval, or of a specific rate, term or amount. Transfer times vary by lender and by your bank.
Lenders in our network review your request and decide whether to make an offer. If one does, the lender sets the rate, fees and repayment term, and the loan agreement is between you and that lender. We don't fund loans, and we are not your bank, broker or financial advisor.
Approval Is Not Promised
Submitting a request is not a promise of approval, or of a specific rate, term or amount. Approval, APR, fees and funding are decided only by the lender.
A request sent through our form is not an application for credit with a specific lender. A lender that wants to make you an offer may ask for more information or a full application, and it shows you the full cost of the loan before you accept.
APR and Repayment Terms
The annual percentage rate (APR) is the yearly cost of a loan, expressed as a percentage. It includes interest and certain finance charges, which is why it's the number to compare when you look at offers from different lenders.
APR Ranges From 5.99% up to 35.99% For Qualified Customers
91 Day Minimum up to 72 Month Maximum Repayment Period
Advertised rates and terms apply to qualified borrowers only, and not every applicant will qualify. Your APR, loan amount and repayment term depend on your credit profile, the lender's underwriting and the lender you're matched with. Some borrowers' APRs may be higher than the range shown. APRs generally range from 5.99% to 35.99%, with repayment terms from 91 days to 72 months.
LoansForChristmas does not set rates or make credit decisions. Each lender sets its own APR, fees and term, and a lender may offer a rate outside the range above depending on the loan product and your qualifications. Before you accept an offer, the lender discloses the exact APR, the payment schedule, the total cost of the loan and its length. If a figure on our site differs from the lender's documents, the lender's documents apply.
Representative Cost Examples
The examples below show how the amount borrowed, the rate and the term change the monthly payment and the total you repay. They are representative examples, not offers, and the terms a lender offers you may differ.
| Example | APR | Term | Fees | Monthly payment | Total repayment |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| $1,000 Loan | 24% APR | 12 months | $50 in fees | $99.29 | $1,191.48 total |
| $2,000 Loan | 19% APR | 24 months | $100 in fees | $105.86 | $2,540.64 total |
| $5,000 Loan | 13% APR | 48 months | $250 in fees | $140.84 | $6,760.32 total |
| $10,000 Loan | 8% APR | 60 months | $500 in fees | $212.90 | $12,774.00 total |
In each example the fee is added to the amount borrowed and repaid over the term, so it is included in both the monthly payment and the total repayment. A longer term lowers the monthly payment but usually raises the total you repay, so compare both figures. Our Loan Rates & Fees page explains the fee types lenders may charge.
Interest, Fees and Other Charges
Using LoansForChristmas is free. We don't charge you a fee, and we don't add interest or any other charge to a loan. The lender sets the interest rate and any fees, such as an origination fee or a late fee, and lists them in its loan agreement.
Read every document a lender gives you before you agree to a loan. You are under no obligation to accept an offer, and you can decline one at any point before you sign the loan agreement.
Timing of Approval and Funding
Lenders review the requests sent through this website themselves, and only the lender decides whether to approve one. If you're approved and accept an offer, when the money reaches you depends on the lender and your financial institution.
Late, Partial and Missed Payments
When you accept a loan, you agree to repay it on the schedule and terms the lender sets. Paying late, paying less than the amount due or not repaying the loan may lead to extra fees, penalties or other steps described in the lender's agreement, and the lender may report missed payments to the credit bureaus.
We can't see each lender's fee structure, so we can't estimate what a late or missed payment would cost you. Check the lender's policy on late and missed payments before you accept a loan.
Collections and Account Servicing
LoansForChristmas does not service loans or collect debts. The lender handles payments, account questions and any collection activity under its agreement and the law, either itself or through a company acting for it. For questions about a payment schedule, a balance or a collection, contact the lender using the details in your loan documents.
Credit Checks and Consumer Reports
By submitting a request, you agree that (a) your information may be shared with lenders and partners on your behalf, and (b) those lenders may obtain consumer reports about you from agencies such as TransUnion, Experian and Equifax to evaluate your creditworthiness.
Lenders in our network may verify the information you give and, where the law allows, get credit reports or other credit data to judge your request. Sending a request only leads to soft inquiries, which don't affect your credit score. A lender runs a hard inquiry, which can, only if you choose its offer and apply with that lender. Late or missed payments on a loan you accept may be reported to the credit bureaus and could lower your score. Reporting practices vary by lender, and our Credit Authorization page explains what you allow lenders to check.
Advertiser Disclosure and Compensation
Advertiser Disclosure: We may receive compensation from lenders or partners when a request is matched or funded, and this may affect which lenders you see.
LoansForChristmas may receive compensation from lenders or lending partners when a request is matched or funded. This compensation may affect which lenders appear in our network and how requests are routed. It does not change what you pay a lender.
We are an advertising and referral service that connects people with independent lenders and lending partners. We don't take loan applications on behalf of lenders or act as an agent for any of them. Referral and marketing payments from lenders and advertising partners are what keep the service free for you. Nothing on this website is an offer to lend or a solicitation of credit.
Tribal Lenders
Tribal Lender Notice: Some lenders in our network are tribal lending entities that operate under the laws of federally recognized Native American tribes. Their rates and fees may be higher than those of state-licensed lenders, and they may be governed by federal and tribal law rather than state law, so state rate caps may not apply. Read the terms carefully before you accept a loan from a tribal lender.
If you are matched with a tribal lender, check the loan agreement for the law that governs it and for how disputes are handled before you sign. Compare its APR and total cost with any other offers you have.
About the 97% Approval Rate
The 97% approval rate depends on things like when you send your request, which lenders and offers are available, and whether it's your first request. Each request is reviewed on its own, and the figure drops if you've sent more than one request in the past 30 days. It isn't a promise of approval.
Whether a lender approves your request, and on what terms, is up to that lender.
The Amount You Request
A lender may offer you more or less than the amount you asked for, or no offer at all. The amount you see on our site is your request, not an offer.
Requests through our site can range from $500 to $35,000, and not every lender offers amounts at the top of that range. The amount a lender offers depends on your credit profile, the lender's underwriting and the laws where you live.
Availability by State
Lending is regulated state by state, so the lenders that can review your request, the products they offer and whether a type of loan is available at all depend on where you live. This service and the lenders in our network are not available in every state. Loan amounts, APRs and terms also depend on your credit profile, each lender's underwriting and the federal, state or tribal law that applies.
To use this service you must be a U.S. resident and at least 18 years old, and you must meet the requirements of the lenders in our network. The content on this Website is general information, not financial, legal or tax advice, and any figures shown are examples, not offers.
Responsible Use
A personal loan can help with a one-time cost such as gifts, travel or a seasonal bill. It is not meant to cover a budget that falls short every month. Before you accept an offer, check that the monthly payment fits alongside your other bills for the whole term, and borrow only what you need.
If you're unsure whether a loan is right for you, a nonprofit credit counselor can help you go through your budget and your options.
Extensions and Renewals
Whether a loan can be extended or renewed is up to the lender, and any option it offers is set out in its agreement. An extension or renewal may add interest or fees and raise the total you repay, so read those terms before you accept the loan.
Consent to Be Contacted
By submitting your request, you agree to be contacted by LoansForChristmas and the lenders and lending partners in our network by phone, text message and email, including through automated or prerecorded technology, at the number and address you provide, even if it is on a do-not-call list. Consent is not a condition of any purchase. You can opt out at any time by following the instructions in any message you receive or by telling us through our Contact page.
Message frequency varies. To stop texts, reply STOP. You can also ask a caller to take you off their list, or tell us through our Contact page and we'll pass your opt-out along. Lenders you've already been matched with are separate companies, so you may need to opt out with them as well.
Electronic Communications (E-SIGN) Consent
By using this website and submitting a request, you consent under the federal E-SIGN Act to receive all communications, agreements, disclosures, notices and other information from LoansForChristmas and the lenders and lending partners we connect you with in electronic form, including by email, by text message and by posting on this website, instead of on paper. To access and keep electronic communications you need a device with internet access, a current web browser and a valid email address, and you are responsible for keeping your contact details current. Standard message and data rates may apply to text messages, and you can stop texts at any time by replying STOP. You may withdraw this consent or ask for a free paper copy of any disclosure at any time through our Contact page, though doing so may mean we can no longer provide the matching service.
Not Financial Advice
The content on this site is for general educational purposes only and is not financial, legal or tax advice. Any figures shown are illustrations, not offers.
For advice about your own situation, talk to a qualified financial, legal or tax professional.
